Editors found this the hardest ZineWest ever to make up a publication list and we congratulate all the writers included in this year’s zine. We thank our judge Fiona Wright for her insightful decisions, also Katherine Knight for naming the Best Image. Special thanks to our guests: Parramatta City Councilor Andrew Wilson who gave a short but marvelous launch speech – tremendously encouraging to all who write in Western Sydney. Thanks also to Di Tulloch of Holroyd CC who lent her knowledge to our inclusion of images (Aerosol art in Merrylands) and Suzanne Grace who managed to pop in from her busy duties at our beloved home, Mars Hill Cafe.
To all the entrants and their friends and relatives, some who travelled quite a distance to be with us, thanks for being a great audience. You make the work worthwhile. And finally, and very importantly, we thank The Writing and Society Research Centre at the UWS which co-sponsors the main prizes, and our financial patron Expression Sessions and the private donors who together help the local writer volunteers make ZineWest happen. There should be some official photos posted up soon.
