At the ZineWest 2010 Launch on Saturday, 9th October, Ms Julie Owens, Federal MP for Parramatta opened the event and Fiona Wright of Giramondo Publishing announced the awards. The readers demonstrated the depth and diversity of writers’ voices from around Western Sydney. Pictured is Luke Carman receiving his certificate and cheque for $400, co-sponsored by the Writing and Society Research Group and NWG Inc.The prize list is as follows:

Editor’s Awards: Jenny Trimboli for four years excellent contribution to ZW and Luke Rule for excellent submissions over three years
ZW WORD was subsequently held at Mars Hill Cafe. ZW entrants and the Open Mic entrants gave us great entertainment: the standard of work was strong and presentation good. ZW winner was Melda Korporan and Open Mic winner was Adam Marsden who both received $25 book vouchers.
