Saturday 16 April we are going to explore Parramatta on foot, as well as by the free shuttle bus.
Starting Point: Catch the LOOP BUS in front of Westfields at 1:15pm. Alight from the bus at Parramatta Leagues Club, walk between Club and Stadium over the River weir to the Restaurant (good menu, moderate prices). NB: Running late? Don’t worry the Loop Bus runs every 10 minutes!
Next: Back on the LOOP BUS to the Parramatta Heritage Centre Heritage Centre (open from 9am – 5pm) and view the permanent exhibitions.
There is an aboriginal walk beside the river that is informative and well worth a look.
More: Further down the River there’s a piece of public art, based on Michael Flynn’s research, close to the ferry wharf. We’ll need to cross to the other side of the river to get to it. PS: Michael Flynn has supplied background notes for us.
Bring a pen and notepad so you can create some new works if you are inspired or just bring along some of your previous work and read them out during our lunch break in Parramatta Park. We hope to see you there!
