NWG Inc April-May

On April 27 at WestWords, guest writer Arna Radovich shared the publishing adventure that led to her remarkable amthology, Limits of Forgetting, stories of gentle humour, grace and quiet devastation” (Fiona Robertson). Arna has a long list of awards for poetry and prose including literature for children. NWG Inc knows Arna as a winner of ZineWest and an outstanding colleague and contributor to our projects.

On May 11 at WestWords we had an open session for readings and discussion, spending more time than usual on what set us in the direction of writing and why/how we choose our genre, style and practice. We heard from writers who had taken up the challenge of a topic borrowed from Auburn Poets and Writers (thanks APW) along the lines of what is the strangest thing that has happened to you ...  Photos: Mihaela Cristescu.

Next gathering is on June 8 at WestWords. We will focus on Poetry. If you don’t write poems we invite you to bring a favourite to read from and tell us what’s special about it. Poets are asked to bring their own work!

Venue: WestWords, 41 Hunter Street Parramatta. Entry through gate on corner of Hunter and Marsden.
