Bring a short piece or two of your writing and practice reading it aloud to a friendly audience. We will have coffee/tea/biscuits in the break. 

Recently we had a small issue with a mic and noticed how some people could project their voice. One of them said, “I was always too shy, then I found my volume!” 
But people with a strong voice can also learn from a soft and expressive speaker. 

PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE OF TIME
We meet from 1:30pm to 3:30pm.

First Contributor’s copy $10. Regular price $15.

Entry $5 to help our basic costs eg insurance.
Free for first time attendees and financial members.

Luke Carman talked about his latest book Intimate Antipathies, Giramondo Publishing. He used samples of writing from five local writers to give individual feedback and to motivate the group to “see again” what more they can bring to their work. Luke is writing judge of ZineWest and every year helps launch the Romanian/Australian Anthologies of our NWG Inc Secretary Mihaela Cristescu – who we can thank for the photos. Below are some random pics… And thanks to our venue UNE Sydney !

Hear author/lecturer Dr. Luke Carman comment on creative writing pieces by new writers. If you’d like a short sample of your work to be in the draw – prose (one page) poetry (up to two pages) – please bring three copies by 2:45 pm.

Date: Saturday, April 8, 2017
Venue: UNE FutureCampus, 211 Church Street, Parramatta
Time: 3-5 pm – includes open mic if time
Entry: $5 (free for financial members of NWG Inc.)

NB Are you thinking of entering ZineWest this year? Luke is the judge, so please don’t bring a potential entry for him to hear!
