The Yard in Dundas
Whipper snippers and shiny clippers,
That’s what gardening means to me,
It is getting out and doing all that trimming
Spreading green waste all over the place.
The delightful smell from each cut branch
The sticky white sap that leaks everywhere,
mucks up the blades and get into my hair.
What do I care,
The path now full of leaves and branches
to be carefully put into the bin, ensuring no
space is wasted, so it all fits in.
The day’s almost over, I feel great
that’s one more job that is off my plate.
